Adding to the offerings

The Baltimore Orioles have announced a partnership with SuperBook Sports that will bring an in-person sportsbook to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

reinforces our iconic ballpark’s standing as one of the premier entertainment destinations in the region”

“While our organization is striving to build the next World Series contender in Charm City, we are constantly exploring unique opportunities to engage with Birdland’s diverse fanbase and welcome new visitors to downtown Baltimore,” said T.J. Brightman, the O’s chief revenue officer, on Wednesday. “The addition of a SuperBook sportsbook only reinforces our iconic ballpark’s standing as one of the premier entertainment destinations in the region.”

The betting area will serve food and drinks as fans can gamble on games throughout the league. Fans will also be able to place wagers through their phones, according to a team statement.

Finding a fit

SuperBook will immediately become a featured partner of the Orioles. SuperBook branding will appear on the center field scoreboard and home plate displays in addition to special events during games.

The Orioles’ new betting partner will also appear on the MLB Ballpark app and the team’s social media platforms.

“SuperBook Sports is excited about this partnership with the Baltimore Orioles,” said Kristin Mackey, SuperBook Sports vice president of marketing, in a release. “The heritage and tradition of the Orioles brand fits perfectly with the SuperBook brand.”

SuperBook Sports was born in Las Vegas in 1986 and now fondly claims the title of “The World’s Largest Sportsbook.” The company has readily expanded in recent years, partnering with MLS squad FC Cincinnati and enlarging its market.?

The exact location of the sportsbook remains unknown, though the Orioles have available space in the upper left-field deck, which has been closed since Opening Day. However, Orioles director of public relations Katie Krause said that was done to streamline staff attention to higher traffic areas.

Regardless of where the facility is housed, SuperBook is excited to join forces with a team that is on the rise.

“To be a part of ‘The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball’ is an honor, and we look forward to bringing a one of a kind sports lounge experience to fans,” said Mackey. “The future of the Orioles is bright, and we look forward to continuing to grow together for years to come.”

Constant change for the Baltimore Orioles

Sports betting was legalized in Maryland last year via HB940. As part of the agreement, Maryland’s six casinos and three professional stadiums were allowed to accept wagers. The Washington Commanders, who play at FedEx Field in Prince George’s County, were just granted a gambling license earlier this week.

$1.2bn allocation for renovations at Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Maryland General Assembly bill HB896, passed earlier this year, created a $1.2bn allocation for renovations at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. Each stadium will be eligible for $600m of bond debt for the makeover.

Thirty retail betting licenses and 60 online betting licenses are still up for grabs.

The Orioles have not revealed any concrete plans for the build of the SuperBook-sponsored sportsbook. The stadium already underwent a $3.5m renovation before the current season started, which involved pushing the left wall back, raising the fence, and removing rows of seats.?
